Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that the annual retail extravaganza of Black Friday kicks off the busiest shopping season of the year. We wanted to find out who was winning the hearts and wallets of America’s shoppers, so our Scout Advertising team looked at a representative sample* from our millions of users to find out which retailers customers searched for the most on Thanksgiving Day and on Black Friday.
Here is a ranking of the top 10 retail brands searched on Thursday and Friday:
- Best Buy
- Toys R Us
- Home Depot
- Radio Shack
- Sam’s Club
- By far and away, the most popular retailer searched was Walmart, which received three times many searches as the #2 retailer, Best Buy.
- Unlike Walmart and other popular retailers, Best Buy did not open until Friday morning. However, its sales must have been good as it still received a significant percentage of the retail searches. Best Buy ranked number two overall and saw more than double the number of searches of all other top 10 brands except for Walmart and Target.
- In fact, there were more searches for the top three retail brands – Walmart, Best Buy and Target – than the next 20 ranked brands combined.
Did you shop at one of these stores over the weekend? What good deals did you get?
We’d love to hear about your Black Friday experience!
